long term, affordable housing
Once she's sober, she has to find a job and a place to live. Facing all the unknowns and impossibilities is overwhelming and 60% - 90% relapse. Hope for Addiction just opened a long-term transitional home and program to support these moms and their children. Two families moved in on February 20th!
All people need help rebuilding their lives after addiction. Hope for Addiction provides transitional support to those committed to a new life free from addiction. Basic life skills are lost when a person lives for years in the cycle of addiction. Learning to live again, learning to be member of a healthy community takes time, support and guidance. Our program provides support group meetings, mentorship, parenting classes, and practical tools for life, based on individual needs.
This new program provides a transitional home for single mothers and their children.
Most transitional programs do not allow children. Hope for Addiction does. We intend to keep families together and give mom the tools to stay clean and sober and be the mother she desires to be. Single moms need additional support and help.
These moms have lived running from pain, responsibility, and life. How is she to manage all that is required to live life sober? And be a good mom to her children? Once she's sober, she has to find a job and a place to live. Facing all the unknowns and impossibilities is overwhelming and 60% - 90% relapse.
This on-going support and safe transitional housing allows them to move forward, gain independence and believe in themselves, maybe for the first time ever.
Long-term support is required for life-long success and that is where we come in with your assistance. Our mission is to provide a transitional living home for single moms and their children for the first year after getting clean.
You can make a donation to Hope for Addiction of any amount (up to $400 single or $800 jointly for your Arizona state tax liability). When you file your Arizona taxes, claim a dollar-for-dollar Arizona Charitable Tax Credit that will either reduce your tax liability or increase your refund. Donations for 2018 tax credit may be made until April 15, 2019.

The amazing state of Arizona recognizes the benefits of charitable organizations that serve the under-privileged. Arizona allows you to take a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state taxes when you donate up to $400 for single, heads of household, and married filing separate filers, or $800 for married couples filing jointly to a qualified organization (previously known as the Working Poor Tax Credit). If you file federal income tax returns, you are also allowed to deduct all your charitable donations to Hope for Addiction (the federal deduction may change, we are waiting for a federal ruling later this year).
The State of Arizona has designated Hope for Addiction as a qualified charitable organization. That means when you invest in saving lives, these gifts can be used toward your Arizona tax liability by receiving the tax credit, up to the $400/$800 limit.
Your donations will support those working to rebuild their lives through practical tools, mentorship, counseling, job assistance, budgeting, parenting and more. Overcoming addictions and rebuilding the brokenness takes time and on-going support and care. Your donations make this possible for men, women, moms and their children.
Its easy! We will send you the necessary form (AZ Form 321) in January as well as your year-end giving statement. For more information about the dollar-for-dollar tax credit, visit the Arizona Department of Revenue website HERE.
This tax credit is allowed IN ADDITION to the Education Credit and the Foster Care Credit, so you don’t have to choose, you can contribute to all three, up to your tax liability. You can share the love!
No, the tax credit is for your total giving, so any Arizona residents can take advantage of the tax credit. If you prefer to give monthly, quarterly or in multiple smaller gifts, all donations count toward the tax credit, up to the allowable credit or your tax liability. A year end statement will give your total giving.
No. You can fill out the short form and still claim the credit, including AZ Form 321 when you file.
You must make your donation on or before April 15, 2019 for your donation to be applied to the 2018 tax year.
